PLONE EXPERT IN THE GTA

We at JIM Media are a visual communications company focused primarily on developing websites. Our main platforms are PHP, MySQL, and WordPress running on Linux servers. We’ve recently come across the Python based Plone CMS, and feel its very appropriate for some forth coming sites.

We are looking for someone in the Greater Toronto Area, with experience in setting up and maintaining a Plone based site. Your main role will be to instruct and educate the team (5-10 developers) on the basics of setting up a Plone site. In addition you will be asked to support ongoing development of our Plone sites, developing code and systems that we will have ownership over. Compensation would be based on an hourly rate, and the selected candidate would need to be able to work from our offices in Mississauga, 2-3 days a week. Some of the areas we are looking to cover are listed below:

• Setting up a fresh Plone site on a Linux system
• ‘Gotchas’ and issues we should be aware of coming from PHP/MySQL
• Running Plone with a MySQL Database
• Skinning a Plone site using CSS
• Managing site plugins and addons, like forums, job boards, and blogs
• Creating standalone pages and templates
• Debugging common issues when developing a plone site
• Integrating AJAX and/or JavaScript, and possibly Flash
• Setting up hierarchial memberships
• Integrating 3rd Party APIs
• Ad networks
• Payment and billing systems
• SAAS based software
